Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Chimney Cleaning Before & After in Orange County, CA
It’s hard to trust a chimney company when every claim sounds the same. We think the soot should do the talking. Below are real transformations from flues across Orange County, from Huntington Beach fireplaces that hadn’t been touched since the 90s to Irvine chimneys packed with nesting material. Each one shows what we found, what we did, and what the homeowner actually saw afterward. The before photos are the honest part. The after photos are the standard. Danny Cortes, Owner, has made sure every job here represents the kind of proof we want families to see before they ever pick up the phone.

Stage 3 Creosote Removal in a Santa Ana Fireplace
Before
AfterThe before photo looks like the inside of a barbecue pit left out all winter. This Santa Ana homeowner hadn’t swept the flue in fourteen years, and the creosote had hardened into a tar-like glaze along the entire liner wall. We ran a rotary whip in stages, starting with poly rods and moving up to a steel head once the glaze softened, then vacuumed with our HEPA filter running the whole time. The after photo shows the original terra cotta liner, which was in surprisingly good shape underneath. The homeowner told us they’d forgotten the flue wasn’t always black. Floors stayed covered, and the photo of our clean-up was in their inbox before we pulled out of the driveway.
Bird Nest Removal from an Anaheim Chimney Cap
Before
AfterThis is the kind of quiet absurdity that Danny mentions now and then. The nest we pulled from this Anaheim cap went nearly three feet down the flue before the twigs gave way to compacted grass. The birds had squeezed through a rusted section of the cap’s mesh. With the fireplace out of season, the homeowner only noticed when the smell started drifting into the living room on warm days. We removed the nest material carefully, swept the flue clear, and replaced the cap with a new one sized for the tile. The result is a fireplace that drafts correctly again. No birds, no odor, and no surprises next winter.
Fireplace Smoke Chamber Cleanout in Mission Viejo
Before
AfterEvery fireplace in Mission Viejo that backs up against the hills gets a little extra use on cool nights, and this one had the chamber to prove it. Ash had caked onto the corbelled brick in thick layers, and the damper plate was sticky with stage 2 creosote. The before photo shows the chamber walls nearly smooth under the buildup. We swept the chamber scraped and brushed every surface we could reach, then vacuumed the smoke shelf completely. Afterward, the owner lit a small test fire and the draft pulled straight up without a whisper of smoke drifting into the room. That’s the result we want documented. The C.A.R.E. values were in full effect here: covers down, nothing moved that wasn’t part of the job, and a photo of the clean-up was delivered before we left.
Prefab Fireplace Sweep and Liner Inspection in Irvine

This Irvine prefab was one we see often: the fireplace looked clean from the firebox, but the ten-inch metal flue was coated with fine, flaky creosote for its first twelve feet. Because the cap was still on from the original install, the homeowner had no sightline to the problem. We swept with a poly brush, being careful not to score the prefab liner, then ran our camera down the full length. The liner was intact, but we found a popped seam at the mid-point joint that we flagged in the report. HeatShield documentation went to the homeowner the next morning. The after photo shows the segmented metal liner clearly, no buildup, with the seam noted on the inspection file. This is exactly what a before and after is for: proof of what was done, and evidence of what needs watching.
Masonry Fireplace Overhaul in Huntington Beach

Salt air does strange things to firebox masonry, and this Huntington Beach fireplace sat unused for so long that the damper had rusted almost shut. The before photo shows the firebox floor stained black from years of old coal ash and soot. We cleaned the box to the brick, carefully reseated the damper so it opens fully again, and ran a full smoke test. The after photo looks like a different fireplace, but it’s the same brick, same mortar, same Orange County salt in the air. Just cleaned, inspected, and returned to working order. The homeowner’s first fire afterward pulled clean, and the living room didn’t take on any smoke smell. That, right there, is the function of the 365-Day Done Right Promise in everyday terms: if it didn’t hold, we’d make it right. It held.
Creosote Buildup in a Beach Cottage Fireplace in Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach cottages have short, direct flues, which usually means decent draft but faster creosote settling. This one hadn’t been swept since the previous owner moved out, and the creosote was the sticky stage 2 variety: darker, thicker, and prone to clinging to the sides in soft sheets. The before photo shows the flue walls black and glossy in the flash of our work light. We swept with a flat wire brush and gave the entire length a thorough vacuum-back process, keeping the HEPA running through the top as we worked down. The after photo shows the flue walls closer to their original orange-red, with only faint staining where years of heat had baked into the clay. Danny will tell you that some stains you can’t undo, but a clean flue is a clean flue, and this one was left defensible for another year.
